Božejov

Božejov ( German Boschejow ) is a patch in the Czech Republic. It is located nine kilometers south-west of Pelhřimov and belongs to Okres Pelhřimov.

Geography

Božejov located in the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands on a ridge between the valleys of Hejlovka and Střítežský creek. By Božejov leads the state road 34 / E 551 between Pelhřimov and Jindřichův Hradec, at the moment a local bypass is built. To the south rises the Heřmanský Kopec ( 674 m).

Neighboring towns are Ústrašín in the north, Libkova Voda in the northeast, Čelistná in the east, Vlásenice - Drbohlavy to the southeast, and Drážďany Pelec in the south, Nová Ves in the southwest, Střítež in the west and boron in the northwest.

History

Božejov originated in the early 13th century. The first written mention of the village took place in 1352. Božejov in 2006 was elevated to Městys.

The municipality consists of the villages Božejov Božejov ( Boschejow ) and Nová Ves ( Neudorf ).
