Březí (Žďár nad Sázavou District)

Březí ( German Brzezy, 1940-45 Birkicht ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers north of Velka Bites and belongs to Okres Zdar nad Sázavou.

Geography

Březí located in the belonging to the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands Highlands Křižanovská ( Krischanauer Bergland ). The village is situated at the southern foot of the Horka (551 m) in the source basin of the creek Březinka. To the northwest rises the Maly Kamenný vrch ( 592 m). To the west stretches of forest Ochoz. To the east, in the valley of the Halda, is the reservoir Níhovský fishpond.

Neighboring towns are Rozseč in the north, Borovník in the northeast, V Bařinách and Níhov in the east, in the southeast Březské, Vlkov in the south, and Osová Osová Bítýška the southwest, Ondrušky in the west and Rohy and Milešín in the northwest.

History

To one of the rule Ossaw associated pond probably originated in the 13th century, two villages, Horni Březí and Dolni Březí. The first mention of Horni Březí took place in 1348, as Hroznata of Březí bought four Huben country by Jan of Vidonín. 1364 included both villages Henricus de Ossaw and his son- Jonáš of Bechyně. As the owner of the large open court and Good 1366 Eberhard von Březí was called. Later belonged to the Freihofstraße Zbynek of Doubravice, who sold it in 1436 to Ondřej Březí. After further changes of ownership of Freihofstraße belonged to the late 15th century by Václav Urban Březí, who also owned the farm in Jestřabí. This prompted Zersplittung of free farm in a large-scale unit. At the end of the 16th century was the village of 15 plots. As part of the Josephine reforms in 1788 a church and a parsonage was built. Until then Březí had been the parish church in Osová Bítýška. The interior of the church came from the repealed Capuchin monastery Jihlava. The Lokalie Březí the villages Borovník, Březské, Níhov, Ondrušky and Rozseč have been assigned. In the 1790s stood in Březí 32 houses. Until the mid-19th century Březí always remained the rule Osová submissive.

After the abolition of patrimonial Březí formed in 1850 with the districts Ondrušky, Rozseč and Borovník a municipality in the district team United Meseritsch. On 13 June 1869, the Brno Bishop Anton Ernst rose Schaffgotsch the Lokalie Březí to the parish. At the end of the 19th century Borovník and Rozseč broke off and formed their own community. The highest population reached the place in 1926, as in Březí 363 and in Ondrušky 69 people lived. 1948 Březí was assigned to the Okres Velka Bites. After its cancellation, the community came to the beginning of 1961 to Okres Zdar nad Sázavou. At this time, the parish had 253 inhabitants.

  • Consecrated Church of the Virgin Mary, 1788. Its present form was given in 1861 when the roof redone and the steeple was added.
