Canton of Vimy

The Canton of Vimy is a French administrative unit in the arrondissement of Arras, in the Pas -de- Calais and in the Nord -Pas -de- Calais; its chief town is Vimy. Representatives of the General Council of the department since 2011 Alexandre Bertrand.

Geography

The Canton of Vimy is 13,945 acres ( 139.45 km ²) in size and has (2006) 22 476 inhabitants, which corresponds to a population density of 161 inhabitants per km ². He is on average 80 meters above sea level, between 26 meters in Quiéry la Motte and 188 meters in Ablain -Saint- Nazaire.
