Don Chan District

Amphoe Don Chan ( Thai: อำเภอ ดอน จาน ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) of the province of Kalasin. The Kalasin Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

The neighboring districts are clockwise starting from the south: the Amphoe Kamalasai, Mueang Kalasin, Na Mon and Kuchinarai in the province of Kalasin, Amphoe Pho Chai as well as the province of Roi Et

History

Don Chan was on 15 July 1996, first as sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by Amphoe Mueang Kalasin was separated from.

On 15 May 2007, the Thai government had decided that all 81 King Amphoe to rise in the simple Amphoe status to unify the administration. With the publication in the Royal Gazette " Issue 124 chapter 46" of 24 August 2007, this decision officially entered into force.

Management

Amphoe Don Chan is in five communities ( tambon) divided which in turn consist of 48 villages ( Muban ).

There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Dong Phayung ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ดง พยุง ) consists of the whole Tambon Dong Phayung,
  • Muang Na ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ม่วง นา ) consists of the whole Tambon Muang Na.

There are also three " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations).
