Tha Khantho District

Amphoe Tha Khantho ( Thai: อำเภอ ท่าคันโท ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the northwestern province of Kalasin. The Kalasin Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

The neighboring districts are starting clockwise from south: Amphoe Nong Kung Si in the province of Kalasin, Amphoe Kranuan the province of Khon Kaen, and Amphoe Kumphawapi, Si That and Wang Sam Mo Udon Thani province.

History

Tha Khantho was born on October 1, 1962 initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by the two tambon Tha Khantho and were separated from Amphoe Khok Khruea Sahatsakhan. On October 2, 1965 Tha Khantho was promoted to Amphoe. Khok Khruea, however, was later assigned to Amphoe Nong Kung Si.

Management

Amphoe Tha Khantho is in six communes ( tambon) divided, in turn, composed of 60 villages ( Muban ) exist.

There are four small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Tha Khantho ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ท่าคันโท ) consists of consists of the whole tambon Tha Khantho and parts of Na Taν,
  • Kung Kao ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล กุ ง เก่า ) consists of the whole tambon Kao Kung,
  • Kut Chik ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล กุด จิก ) consists of the whole tambon Kut Chik,
  • Dong Sombun ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ดง สมบูรณ์ ) consists of the whole Tambon Dong Sombun.

There are also two " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations).
