Huai Mek District

Amphoe Huai Mek ( Thai: อำเภอ ห้วยเม็ก ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the west of the province of Kalasin. The Kalasin Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

The neighboring districts are starting clockwise from the north-west: the Amphoe Nong Kung Si and Yang Talat in the province of Kalasin, Amphoe Chom Chuen Maha Sarakham Province and Amphoe Kranuan the province of Khon Kaen.

History

Huai Mek was posted on November 1, 1970 initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by the three Tambon Huai Mek, Kut Don and Bueng Na Riang Amphoe Yang Talat were separated from. On April 12, 1977 Huai Mek has been promoted to Amphoe.

Management

Amphoe Huai Mek is in nine communities ( tambon) divided, in turn, from 81 villages ( Muban ) exist.

There are also two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Huai Mek ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ห้วยเม็ก ) consists of parts of the tambon Huai Mek,
  • Kham Yai ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล คำ ใหญ่ ) consists of parts of the tambon Kham Yai.

In addition, there are nine " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations).
