Somdet District

Amphoe Somdet ( Thai: อำเภอ สมเด็จ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) of the province of Kalasin. The Kalasin Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

The neighboring districts are starting clockwise from the southeast: the Amphoe Huai Phung, Na Mon, Mueang Kalasin, Sahatsakhan and Kham Muang Kalasin Province and Amphoe Phu Phan province of Sakon Nakhon.

History

Was Somdet on August 16, 1964 initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by the three tambon Somdet, Mu Mon Saeng and Badan were separated from Amphoe Sahatsakhan. On February 25, 1969 Somdet was promoted to Amphoe.

Management

Amphoe Somdet is ( tambon) divided into eight municipalities, which in turn consist of 94 villages ( Muban ).

There are also three small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Somdet ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สมเด็จ ) consists of parts of the tambon Somdet,
  • Saeng Badan ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล แซง บาดาล ) consists of the whole Tambon Saeng Badan,
  • Pha Sawoei ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ผา เสวย ) consists of the whole Tambon Pha Sawoei.

In addition, there are six " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations).
