Enköpings SK
Enköpings Sportklubb is a Swedish sports club from Enköping. The club is best known for its ice hockey or football departments.
History
Enköpings SK was founded on March 2, 1914. For a long time played the football team of the club in the third division before 1938 as master of Östsvenskan reached the summit in the Division 2 Norra. 1940 had the team but again descend from the second division. In 1946 the championship again in the regional third division. After ascent games against Hallstahammar SK and IK City, where a third decision-making had to be recognized in each in addition to the two regular games, managed to return to the second tier and the club was because of the many games the nickname " Svenska Mästare i kval " - Swedish champion of the rise Games. In the following years ESK was initially a lift team, before it succeeded from 1965 to permanently establish in the third division. After 14 years of League membership in 1978 managed to return to the second division. In the first two years after relegation, the club placed in the upper middle, but could not intervene in the decision to move up. 1995 failed ESK short of IFK Västerås: with the same score and the same number of goals scored less goals conceded four helped the competitors to take part in the rise of games. A year later, it made the team better, according to the vice-championship successes achieved by over Sandvikens IF and Visby IF Gute but the repeated rise in the second division.
In the season 1997, Enköpings SK bad luck, the team had to suffer from a failure of the League competitors Vasalunds IF: The club had taken the three allowed non-EU foreigners employed in nine league games, four of these players. However, the team only played one season in the third division and was able to celebrate its chances of promotion.
As a newly promoted to Enköpings SK could place this time directly in the upper middle, to climbers Assyriska Föreningen missing even just two points. Thus, the team qualified for the new single-track second division, the Superettan. Again, ESK played with in the upper middle and 2002 succeeded the runner-up behind Östers IF and hence the rise in the Allsvenskan. There, the team was, however, with only three wins and 14 points Table and in the end had 18 points off the relegation zone occupied by the last non Landskrona BoIS. However, when relegated ESK could not really take root and slid as Third last again from the low ranks in the Superettan. In Division 2 Norra Svealand, the team reached a master ascent games, but failed after a 0-0 draw on home court by a 0-2 away defeat at Umeå FC. In the newly formed Division 1 Ettan ESK managed in the following year the championship and returned to the second division. As Tabellenzwölfter was celebrated at the end of the 2007 season the league.
However, was followed by the relegation of the club, when the club in the 2008 relegation to Division 1, had the third highest Swedish football league compete. There, the team however, occurred only in a single season in the " Division 1 Norra ," one of two parallel relays on and then rose to 13th place in the final table Scrapping in Sweden Viertklassigkeit from.
The Hockey section of the club reached 1975/76 for the first time the second highest Swedish league, but went straight off again. 2006 managed to return. In the season 2011/ 12, the ice hockey team compete in the third-tier Division 1.
