The Erin Township is one of 18 townships in Stephenson County in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Illinois.

Geography

The Erin Township is located north-west of Illinois, approximately 20 km south of the Wisconsin border. The Mississippi River, which forms the border with Iowa, is located around 60 km to the west.

The Erin Township is located at 42 ° 19'59 " north latitude and 89 ° 46'37 " west longitude and extending over 47.13 km ².

The Erin Township is located in the western center of the Stephenson County and is bordered to the north by the Waddams Township, on the east by the Harlem Township, to the southeast by the Florence Township, on the south by the Loran Township, on the west by the Kent Township and on the northwest by the West Point Township.

Traffic

Through the Township runs in an east -west direction of U.S. Highway 20, which is the shortest route from Dubuque in Iowa to Rockford in Illinois. All other roads are subordinate and partly unpaved roadways.
