The Ridott Township is one of 18 townships in Stephenson County in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Illinois.
Geography
The Ridott Township is located north-west of Illinois, 25 km south of the Wisconsin border. The Mississippi River, which forms the border with Iowa, is located approximately 85 km to the west.
The Ridott Township is located at 42 ° 15'51 " north latitude and 89 ° 27'42 " west longitude and extending over 138.82 km ². Due to the northern part of the Township of coming from Wisconsin Pecatonica River, a tributary of the Rock River flows.
The Ridott Township is located in the southeast of Stephenson County and is bordered to the east by the Winnebago and on the south by the Ogle County. Inside the Stephenson County the Ridott Township is bordered to the west by the Silver Creek Township, on the northwest by the Lancaster Township and the north by the Rock Run Township.
Traffic
Through the Township into East-West direction of U.S. Highway 20, which is the shortest route between the cities of Freeport and Rockford. All other roads are County Roads and more subordinate and partly unpaved roadways.
Parallel to Highway 20 passes a railway line of the Canadian National Railway, which runs from Chicago to the west.
The nearest airport is about 5 km west of the township located Albertus Airport in Freeport, the center of the entire region.
