The Kent Township is one of 18 townships in Stephenson County in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Illinois.
Geography
The Kent Township is located north-west of Illinois, approximately 20 km south of the Wisconsin border. The Mississippi River, which forms the border with Iowa, located some 50 km to the west.
The Kent Township is located at 42 ° 19'33 " north latitude and 89 ° 51'44 " west longitude and extending over 91.94 km ².
The Kent Township is located in the west of Stephenson County and borders within which the north by the West Point Township, in the northeast of the Waddams Township, on the east by Erin Township, to the southeast by the Loran Township and on the southwest by the Jefferson Township. In the West Kent Township is adjacent to the Jo Daviess County.
Traffic
Through the Township into East-West direction of U.S. Highway 20, which is the shortest route from Dubuque in Iowa to Rockford in Illinois. The highway crosses 73 All other roads within the Kent Township, the Illinois State Route are County Roads and further subordinate and partly unpaved roadways.
Due to the extreme northeast corner of the Township runs a railway line of the Canadian National Railway, which runs from Chicago to the west.
