Ferdinand Bracke
Ferdinand Bracke ( born May 25, 1939 in Hamme, Belgium ) is a former Belgian cyclist.
Career
The professional career of Ferdi Bracke lasted from 1962 to 1972 on the road. His greatest success was winning the Tour of Spain in 1971. Ferdi Bracke but was also a very good train driver and was not only several Belgian pursuit champion, but in this discipline also world champion in 1964 and 1969. In 1967 he succeeded in the improvement of the hour world record at 48.093 km. Mainly due to this best performance, he was elected in the same year "Sportsman of the Year" in Belgium.
