Foča-Ustikolina

Foca - Ustikolina is a federation of three communities of the Canton Bosnian Podrinje in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The village of about 2,200 inhabitants, is located on the upper reaches of the Drina and belongs to the Federation, one of two entities of the South East European state.

Geography

The municipality is located in the mountainous east of the country, the mountains here reach heights of more than 1500 m. The Drina River meanders in a narrow valley between the mountains along. The parish seat Ustikolina lies on the left bank of the Drina about 10 kilometers north of Foca and 20 km southwest of Gorazde. The Montenegrin border is only 12 km away, the nearest border crossing, however, 36 km away.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the settlements Bavčići, Bešlići, Bunčići, Cvilin, Donje Žešće, Filipovici, Jabuka Kolakovići, Lokve, Mazlina, Mravljača, Njuhe, Petojevići, Podgrađe, Previla, Prisoje, Račići, Radojevići, Rodijelj, Slavičići, Sorlaci, Stojkovići, Ustikolina, Zabor and Zebina Šuma.

History

The municipality of Foca - Ustikolina consists of the following the Dayton Agreement separated by the border innerbosnische northern part of the former municipality of Foca, now part of the larger southern part of the Republika Srpska.

Economy and infrastructure

Ustikolina located on the eastern Bosnian main road 20 (Dubrovnik- Foca, Visegrad ). This represents the only modern transport route in the community dar. The south of Jahorina mountain range located west of the city limits is partially undeveloped; the settlements located there are only accessible via dirt roads.
