Francofonte
Franco Fonte is a municipality in the province of Siracusa in Sicily region of Italy with 12,909 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012).
Location and data
Franco Fonte situated 65 km north-west of Syracuse on the east side of the Iblei. The live mainly on agriculture, the food industry and the production of concrete.
The neighboring municipalities are Buccheri, Carlentini, Lentini, Militello in Val di Catania ( CT) and Vizzini (CT).
History
The community was founded in the second half of the 14th century. Franco Fonte was built around a fort around. North of the present town once supposed to have been the town of Hydra.
