Frei

Frei was a municipality in the Norwegian province (county ) Møre og Romsdal. On January 1, 2008 Open was incorporated to Kristiansund.

To 955 the battle of Rastarkalv between Haakon I and the sons of Erik I. took place in free.

Geography and transport

The local authority leisure consisted of the island of the same name, as well as several small islands. Neighboring municipalities were Kristiansund, Ting full, Gjemnes and Averøy.

The largest town in the former municipality is free Rensvik.

The most important links with the Omsund Bridge is the National Highway 70, which connects with the European route Kristiansund 39.

Kvalvik Fort is a fortress from the Second World War, was first built in 1943.
