Granaglione

Granaglione is a town with 2261 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Bologna, 67 km from the provincial capital.

It is the southernmost municipality of the province of Bologna, close to the border with Tuscany ( province of Pistoia), is separated from the water by the currents Reno and Orsigna, his left tributary. The course of the river from the Rio Maggiore, however, is distinguished from the border to the municipality Porretta Terme. The municipal area extends mostly on the steep mountain foot of the mountains that crown the Reno valley westward, and extend in less tortuous highs only in the area around the villages of Borgo Capanne, Varano, Madognana, where the last buttresses of the Monte di Granaglione gentle to Porretta dismount.
