Gaggio Montano

Gaggio Montano is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 5053 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Bologna in Emilia -Romagna. The community is located about 47.5 kilometers southwest of Bologna on Reno and directly borders the province of Modena.

History

The community has gained through several massacres of the SS to the local population during the Second World War, sad notoriety.

Economy and Transport

In the community In 1981, the company Saeco, which became known as a manufacturer of household appliances. Through the community lead the former Strada Statale del Passo delle Radici 324 and State Road 623 del Passo Brasa (both are now provincial roads ). Together with the Reno Strada Statale 64 Porretana forms the southeastern boundary of the parish. On the railway line Bologna - Pistoia there is a breakpoint in the district of Silla.

Twinning

Since 1999, a partnership between the cities Gaggio Montano and the French community Sauveterre.
