Isaac N. Quinn

Isaac N. Quinn ( † June 26, 1865 in San Rafael, California ) was an American politician. In the years 1860 and 1861, he was appointed acting lieutenant governor of the State of California.

Career

About the youth and education of Isaac Quinn nothing is handed down. At an unknown date he came to California, where he struck as a member of the Democratic Party a political career. From 1855 to 1856 he sat as a deputy in the California State Assembly; in 1860 he became a member and President Pro Tempore of the State Senate.

Also in 1860, joined Governor Milton Latham resigned from his post to go to the U.S. Senate. Then took his deputy John G. Downey, the Office of the Governor. According to the Constitution the now vacant post of Deputy Governor by the President pro Tempore of the State Senate was occupied. That was Isaac Quinn, who until 1861 exercised this office as acting. Then he lost the office of the Senate President to Pablo de la Guerra and thus its function as acting vice governor, who also fell to de La Guerra.
