Isábena

Isábena ( Isàvena in Catalan ) is a municipality in the province of Huesca in the autonomous community of Aragon in Spain. The community is comprised of various population centers in the valley of Isábena (river). Isábena is part of the Comarca Ribagorza.

Language situation

Isábena is located in the transition region of the Aragonese to Catalan. Belonging to the (mostly Catalan ) Franja de Aragón is controversial.

History

In 1964 the communities of Puebla de Roda and Roda de Isábena merged to form the new municipality Isábena. 1966, a part of the former municipality Merli was incorporated with Esdolomada, Merli and Nocellas, 1970, San Esteban del Mall and finally in 1977 Serraduy.

Tourism

In 1996, Jose Badía from the village of La Puebla de Roda with his German wife, Renate Beutmüller - Badia the Camping and Bungalow Park Isábena. In recent years, then several bungalows and mobile homes were added. Meanwhile, among 34 holiday homes for the plant. 2008, a large swimming pool with children's section was opened. 2011 was added a wellness area with sauna, Turkish bath and Jacuzzi.
