Italian Footballer of the Year

The title of Player of the Year will be announced in Italy in various elections.

The best player in the Serie A is awarded annually by the weekly football journal Guerin Sportivo since 1976 and receives Guerin d' Oro. As a basis for calculation the ratings of the main Italian sports magazines serve on the respective games of the season. The choices are all footballers in the Serie A, regardless of their nationality.

From 1997 to 2010 also gave the Italian football player Associazione Italiana Calciatori (AIC ) awards in different categories (Oscar del Calcio ). The awards were presented here at the beginning of next year, retroactively for the previous calendar year. Among other things, the best Italian players in Serie A and the best foreign players in Serie A was chosen. One of those players was also awarded the title of Best Player of the Series A.

Since 2011 the best Best Player of Series A will be crowned at the so-called Gran Galà del Calcio after players, coaches, referees and journalists have made their choice. The event can be viewed as a successor to the Oscar del Calcio.

  • Goal of the Year (2007 to 2010)
