The community Krottendorf with 2362 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) located in the east of the province of Styria, about 25 kilometers from Graz and in close proximity to Weiz, the capital of the district. The settlement Krottendorf 1403 is first mentioned.

Industry
Krottendorf developed after the Second World War from a purely agricultural community into an important commercial and industrial community of the region around Weiz. Currently, about 1,500 people are employed in commerce and industry in Krottendorf.
