Kyjov (Žďár nad Sázavou District)

Kyjov ( German Kyjow ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 16 km north-west of Velké Meziříčí and belongs to Okres Zdar nad Sázavou.

Geography

Kyjov located in the Arnolecké Mountains, part of the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands, at the western foot of the mountain Kyjov ( 702 m) in the source basin of the creek Křivý creek. North of the Belfritský springs creek. To the northeast, the Hudcova rises skala ( 663 m), in the southeast of the Krib ( 667 m) and Dědkovská hora ( 694 m) and in the west the Havlina (706 m).

Neighboring towns are Bohdalov in the north, Stary Telečkov in the northeast, Pavlov in the east, Zadnà Zhořec and Dedkov the southeast, Milíkov and Cerna in the south, and Jersín Arnolec in the southwest and Chroustov in the northwest.

History

The first mention of Kyjov took place in 1464 as part of the Měříner goods. Owners were, inter alia, the lords of Pernštejna and Chroustenský. Their estates were confiscated after the Battle of White Mountain and Rambold XIII. passed from Collalto. Among the Count Collalto Kyjov belonged until 1848 to the reign of Cerna.

After the replacement of patrimonial Kyjov formed in 1850 a part of the community Bohdalov in the Nove Mesto district team. 1904 founded a volunteer fire department. In 1920 the municipality Kyjov. In 1949, the allocation to the Okres Zdar nad Sázavou was.
