Traffic

Highway

Since 2004 is built on a highway that is to run from Banja Luka on Laktaši direction Gradiška and Croatia. The first section of Banja Luka to Laktašer district Mahovljani ( where the airport is Banja Luka located) was originally to be completed in September 2006, the remaining portion by the end of 2008. All in all, the construction of approximately 45 km long highway around 71 million KM costs ( € 36 million ). The progress but has been delayed repeatedly, including through the construction of the tunnel in the district Klašnice and the controversial tunnel in the center of Laktaši. This highway will be a relief for the villages along the route Gradiška / Banja Luka. Furthermore, the small border crossing in Gradiška is relieved. A large part of the highway has since been released on future highway interchange at Mahovljani but is still working. This currently needs to be avoided on the regional road.
