Geographical location

The municipality is located in the region of Upper Franconia-West by the stream Lauter, flowing in demand for construction in the river construction demand.

History

Pope Innocent IV confirmed in 1251 in a document of the fantastic Lauter property and privileges of the monastery Michel mountain. Lauter belonged to the High Monastery at Bamberg. The counts of Truhendingen were based on the located at Lauter stages castle. With the Imperial Diet of 1803 the city became part of Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community. On July 1, 1972 Louder came with all his later districts of the dissolved district boars to the district of Bamberg and thus of lower to Upper Franconia.

Incorporations

On April 1, 1971, part of the former municipality Appendorf was incorporated. In 1875 the church was officially renamed Leppelsdorf Deusdorf. On May 1, 1978 Deusdorf came to Lauter.

Policy

Mayor Armin postman (CSU ), who won with 60.89 % of the vote in 2002. In 2008 he was re-elected with 85.95 % of the votes and 2014 with 88.16 %. He was the successor of Manfred Beier Lieb ( CDU), which had prevailed in 1996 with 67.51 % of the vote against Hans -Jürgen Zitzelsberger (CSU ) in 2002.

Economy, agriculture and forestry

It was in 1998 according to official statistics in industry and in trade and transport, no social insurance contributions at the workplace.
