Leland Sklar
Leland Bruce Sklar ( born May 28, 1947 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, also " Lee Sklar " ) is an American bassist, singer and composer.

Leland Sklar has contributed to today in hundreds of albums. He has worked with the likes of Suzy Bogguss known, Jackson Browne, Phil Collins, Rita Coolidge, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Kris Kristofferson, Hall & Oates, Reba McEntire, Randy Newman, Dolly Parton, Carole King, Linda Ronstadt, Véronique Sanson, Rod Stewart, George Strait, James Taylor, Warren Zevon, Steve Lukather ( Toto ) and several others worked.
Sklar over the years developed his own musical style, even his external appearance is very " striking," as well as his Dingwall bass with the fan-like spread collars.
Life
His family moved shortly after his birth from Wisconsin to Southern California. With four years Sklar began to learn the piano playing. He tried, after he had finished school to get a university place for this instrument, because of the large number of applicants him but could not do that. Since the seats were available for Strings, Sklar decided to learn bass and study. Sklar began his musical studies at California State University, Northridge. There he met James Taylor know who had him play several shows bass. Both thought that the interaction would be only a short time, but when James recorded his first successful hit, Sklar was solid bassist and came into contact with other music greats. This was the start of his long career.
In the 70s Sklar worked with drummer Russ Kunkel, Danny Kortchmar on guitar and keyboardist Craig Doerge and they became known as "The Section". Under this name they recorded 1972-1977 on three albums. The section was very often booked as a complete backing band, and is therefore found on many albums by other artists.
2007 was Leland Sklar with Toto on tour, bassist Mike Porcaro because their had injured his hand.
