Leo Gudas

Leo Gudas ( born May 20, 1965 in Bruntál, Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech ice hockey player and current coach. Be Radko son is also hockey players.

Playing career

During his career he played from 1983/84 at HC Sparta Prague HC Dukla Jihlava and HC Dukla Trenčín before joining the season 1990/91 for two years to JYP Jyväskylä in Finland. From Finland, he moved to Germany to EC Hedos Munich at the beginning of 1992/93 season, where he still moved during the season back to HC Sparta Prague. During the 1993/94 season he moved from Prague to Switzerland for EHC Biel, before joining the 1994/95 season to Norway to the spectrum Flyers. After the season, he spent the 1995/96 season for HC Kometa Brno, before he played from 1996 to 1998 for IF Troja Ljungby, Sweden. After that he played between 1998 and 2000, the Augsburger Panther in the German Hockey League before he played between 2000 and 2002 when Heilbronner EC in the 2nd Bundesliga. After the season 2002 / 03, in which he played for HC Berounsti Medvědi, he ended his playing career.

Internationally

With the Czechoslovak national team, he took between 1989 and 1992, respectively at the World Ice Hockey Championships in part, also in 1993 with the Czech national team. In addition, he played with Czechoslovakia at the 1992 Winter Olympic Games in Albertville and the Canada Cup in 1991. At the Olympic Winter Games he won the bronze medal there, as well as at the World Championships in 1989, 1990, 1992 and 1993.

Coaching career

In the season 2004/ 05 Leo Gudas assistant coach was under Slavomír Lener at HC Sparta Prague.

Between 2007 and 2009, Gudas worked as an assistant coach at BK Mladá Boleslav, who succeeded in this time the rise of the first league in the Extraliga. For the 2009/10 season, he took his first head coaching job at SK Kadan from the 1st league. This commitment, however, ended prematurely, so he returned to the 2010/11 season back as an assistant to Mladá Boleslav. The success of the first term, but did not set and he had to leave the club in October 2010 together with his office colleague Jan Tlačil. For the 2011/12 season Gudas took an assistant coaching job at HC Most on from the first league.

In January 2012, Gudas Sports Manager of the Piráti Chomutov, and later assistant coach of the first team.
