List of churches in Malta
In the state of Malta, there are over 365 churches. As the Maltese jokingly say "For every day of the year we have a church." With a population of around 410,000 people (as of 2010 ), so there are about 1100 per capita a church. The country has a Catholic population to 98 percent; The Catholic faith is deeply rooted in society and politics, and is practiced by a substantial part of the population. Churches are therefore and because of their cultural and historical importance central building in Malta. Many already incurred in or before the 17th century. Because of the vast bilingualism (one English ) on the islands of the English saints names are in the following compilation used.
Catholicism is the state religion.

Christian cemeteries and catacombs
In Malta there are catacombs. They go back to Roman and Byzantine origins and were plundered at least since the time of the Knights Templar. In the complex of Rabat there is a slightly deeper chapel in a central hall.
