List of municipalities in the Western Cape
The list of communities in the Western Cape leads all municipalities (Local Municipalities ) in the South African province of Western Cape.
The Western Cape Province is divided into five districts ( District Municipalities ) divided with a total of 24 municipalities. In the districts, there are five direct the district administration under standing areas ( District Management Areas, DMAs ). DMAs are characterized by their very low population and often belong to national parks or nature reserves. The DMAs in the Western Cape Province, the West Coast DMA in the district of West Coast, the Breede River in the district of DMA Cape Winelands, the Overberg Overberg DMA in the South Cape DMA in Eden and Central Karoo DMA in the Central Karoo District. The DMAs in the province have an average of about one inhabitant per square kilometer. The City of Cape Town Metropolitan Municipality with the City of Cape Town is the only municipality (Metropolitan Municipality ) in the Province and does not belong to the district.
