List of rivers of Spain
The list of rivers in Spain includes the river systems with tributaries over 100 km of the Iberian Peninsula - as far as they do not lie completely on Portuguese soil.
The major rivers of the Iberian Peninsula drain mostly to the west to the Atlantic. These are from north to south Duero, Tajo, Guadiana and Guadalquivir. Only the Ebro River basin runs on the Iberian peninsula from north to southeast and flows into the Mediterranean. There are also several smaller river systems, especially in the Levant in the Mediterranean which opens Júcar and Segura, in the southwest - on the Costa de la Luz - the Guadalete and Barbate and Tinto and Odiel, after the Miño / Sil basin in Galicia. In addition, a number of small rivers flowing directly into the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, about south of the Betic Cordillera in Andalusia, in the extreme northwest of Galicia and Cantabria.

The basin of the Ebro runs on the Iberian peninsula from north to southeast. The other major river systems follow an east -west orientation and flow to the Atlantic Ocean. They are presented here according to the Ebro from north to south sorted.
Ebro river system
The hydrogeografische basin of the Ebro and its tributaries comprises 83,093 km ², it extends almost from the Bay of Biscay to the north along the Pyrenees south-east to the Costa Brava of the Mediterranean. To the southwest it is bounded by the Iberian mountain range (Spanish Sistema Ibérico ). It drained mainly Navarra, Rioja, Aragon and Catalonia, next to small parts of Cantabria, the Basque Country and a corner of Castile -Leon.
Duero river system
The river system of the Duero drains an area of 98,400 km ² mainly Castile and León. It is bordered by the Castilian vagina mountains in the south and the Cantabrian Mountains in the north. The average discharge is 700 m³ / s
Tajo river system
The hydrogeografische basin of the Tagus and its tributaries comprises 80,600 km ². It extends from the Iberian mountain range (Spanish Sistema Ibérico ) centrally through Spain and Portugal to the west to the Atlantic, it runs between the to 2592 m high Castilian vagina Mountains and hills of Toledo and Extremadura. It is mainly located in the autonomous regions of Madrid, Castile -La Mancha and Extremadura.

Guadiana river system
The basin of the Guadiana has an area of 67,733 km ².
The Sierra Morena, a 800-1000 m high, on average, low mountains, the river system of the Guadiana separates southward from the river system of the Guadalquivir and thus of Andalusia.

The catchment area of the Guadalquivir has an area of 56,978 km ².
