Maria Haukaas Storeng

Maria Haukaas Mittet (* Maria Haukaas Storeng August 3, 1979 in Finnsnes ) is a Norwegian singer.

At the age of eleven years Storeng occurred in the Norwegian version of the musical Annie, which was performed on Bryggeteateret in Oslo. Following was followed by other musical roles in Oslo as well as in her home county of Troms.

In 2004 she took part in the second season of the Norwegian Pop Idol issue and could occupy the sixth place there. The following year, she released her first solo album with Breathing, the position reached 13 in the Norwegian music charts. The resulting coupled- Singles Breathing and Should've were able to get into the Top 20 in each case.

With the song Hold On Be Strong by Mira Craig took it as an interpreter for Norway at the Euro Vision Song Contest 2008 (ESC ) part. The single reached # 1 on the 2008 Norwegian charts in February. In April of the same year they also released an eponymous album.

In the first semifinal of the ESC on 20 May 2008 succeeded Storeng, be placed with Hold On Be Strong among the top ten posts, which meant a place in the four days later held the final. There she finished the victory of the Russian Dima Bilan fifth place.

In 2009, she starred with Anna Sahlene in the fourth semi-final of the Melodifestivalens entitled Killing Me Tenderly, but could not qualify for the finals themselves. Previously, she hosted the Melodi Grand Prix, the Norwegian decider.

For the 48th Nordic World Ski Championships 2011, held in Oslo, Haukaas Mittet sang the official World Cup song " Glorious ".
