Morten Harket

Morten Harket ( born 14 September 1959 in Kongsberg ) is a Norwegian musician, singer and composer. He was the lead singer and frontman of the pop band a-ha.

Life and career

Harket grew up with three brothers and a sister in Gullhella in Asker / Akershus. He began singing at Ten Sing Along with Magne Furuholmen and Pål Waaktaar Savoy from 1982, he formed the group a-ha, who had successfully represented from mid-1985 on the charts. Before joining a-ha, he appeared for a short time with the blues band Souldier Blue.

As a solo artist he won in 1995 with the album Wild Seed, as well as single A Kind of Christmas Card until then for the first time all four possible prices of the Norwegian Spellemannprisen. Among them were the traveling trophy Årets was Spellemann, which is across not selected as only one of the prices of a jury, but by Spellemann Committee itself this is placed next to the plate sale on the entire appearance of an artist's value. The other three awards won Harket as best male artist for Album of the Year and Song of the Year - the latter in collaboration with the lyricist of the song Håvard Rem, with whom he had worked a lot as a solo artist. He also won with a-ha in 1985, 1986 and 1990 a further seven Spellemann prices, making it a total of eleven prices of the most successful artists in these awards.

On May 18, 1996, he hosted together with the journalist Ingvild Bryn the 41 Euro Vision Song Contest 1996 in Oslo.

The solo album Letter from Egypt was published on 30 May 2008. The first single from the album was released in mid- November 2007, and is titled movies. In May 2008 came the second single Dark Space - You're out with Me.

On 15 October 2009 gave a-ha the end of the band known. Harket decided shortly thereafter to record a solo album. In the fall of 2011, he co-wrote with Joakim Berg and Martin Sköld to Out of My Hands. The work was published on 13 April 2012. Morten Harket in September 2013 was a guest singer at the MTV Unplugged Project of the Scorpions in Athens Lycabettus theater and sang with Klaus Meine Wind of Change.

Private

From 1989 to 1998 Harket was married to the Swedish Model Camilla Malmquist. From this marriage three children were born.

By the end of 2004, he lived with the Norwegian athlete Anne Mette Undlien, which gave birth to a daughter in 2003.

With Inez Andersson, his longtime assistant, he has been dating since mid-2005. Andersson brought into the relationship with a son a. In September 2008 their daughter was born.
