Mouth & MacNeal

Mouth & MacNeal was a Dutch singing duo in the early 1970s in the " Middle-of -the - Road Sound" enjoyed successes in all of Europe.

Willem Duyn began as a drummer in "Holland Quartet " then became a singer on the " Jay- Jay ", disc jockey and eventually founded the band in 1970 " Speedway ". In 1971 he founded together with Maggie MacNeal the duo "Mouth & MacNeal ".

Internationally became the duo with the popular song How Do You Do? , Who in 1972 took 5th place in the spring in the German charts and number 8 in the U.S. Billboard charts. In German language version of Peter Petrel under the name " Windows " gecovert, the song the same year in Germany for a top hit. With the follow-up single Hello -A Mouth & MacNeal in 1972 were in Germany for several weeks at number 1 in the same year You- Kou -La -Le -Lou - Pie was a Top 20 hit, while Battering Ram in spring 1973 in Germany no longer able to place.

With Ik zie een art ( I See a Star ), the two 1974 Netherlands took the Euro Vision Song Contest and occupied 3rd place behind the winning song Waterloo by ABBA and Gigliola Sí Cinquetti. Shortly after, the duo parted. While Maggie MacNeal henceforth operated as a soloist, Mouth founded with his new partner Ingrid Kup the duo " Big Mouth & Little Eve ".

Willem Duyn died on 3 December 2004 at a cardiac arrest.

In 2007, the melody of How Do You Do? taken over by scooters for the song The Question Is What Is the Question.
