National Heads-Up Poker Championship

The National Heads-Up Poker Championship is an annual poker tournament invitation, which takes place in Las Vegas in the USA. The number of participants is limited to 64 players, a playoff series of heads up matches to contest the final winners of the National Heads- Up Poker Champion will be crowned.

The idea for this tournament comes from the successful European counterpart, the World Heads - Up Poker Championship. This tournament will take place in Barcelona and is compared an open tournament with a limited number of participants from 128

The first edition in 2005, was initially conceived as a stopgap, as the TV station NBC a replacement for the loss of the NHL season 2005 needed.

The 2005 event took place at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas from March 4 to March 6 instead.

2006 Caesars Palace in Las Vegas was the site of the second edition. It was again from March 4 to March 6 instead.

In 2007, Caesars Palace was once again from 2 to 4 March venue of the tournament.

In Germany, spending the years 2005 and 2006 were provided by the TV station, the Fourth and annotated by Michael Körner.
