Novo Goražde

Ustipraca ( Cyrillic Устипрача, also Novo Goražde, until 2002 Srpsko Goražde ) is a place and the eponymous municipality in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The municipality is situated on the rivers Drina and Praca and belongs to Republika Srpska, one of two entities of the South East European state.

The community was first called after the end of the Bosnian war as Srpsko Goražde before the Constitutional Court banned place names with ethnic attributes. Since then, which is primarily the name Ustipraca in use, sometimes Novo Goražde.

Geography

The community is located between the steep slopes of the eastern Bosnian mountains Vučevica and Jahorina; the highest mountains reach heights of over 1,400 m in Jahorina. The parish seat Ustipraca lies at the mouth of the river Praca who leaves here one of the largest canyons in the country in the pent Drina. Goražde is situated about 12 km to the west, 28 km north-east of Visegrad and Rogatica 19 km northwest.

History

The municipality consists of the Ustipraca after the Dayton Agreement separated by the border innerbosnische eastern part of the former municipality of Goražde, now part of the larger western part of the Federation.

Population

The community had the 2013 census about 3,400 inhabitants. At the 1991 census, the real place Ustipraca had 498 inhabitants; of this, 448 (90 %) than Bosniaks and 37 (7.4%) identified as Serbs. After the war the city was due almost exclusively populated by expulsion and exodus of Serbs.

Economy and infrastructure

Ustipraca is located at the intersection of two Magistralstraßen M5 (Sarajevo- Visegrad ) and M20 ( according to Foca and Dubrovnik ), which were further expanded modern in 1989-91 in this section.
