Obrascón Huarte Lain

Huarte Lain OBRASCON, SA, better known by the acronym OHL, is a Spanish construction company headquartered in the famous Madrid building Torre Espacio. Huarte Lain OBRASCON is traded on the Madrid Stock Exchange and is the result of two mergers of companies OBRASCON, Huarte and Laín.

History

The company Sociedad General de Obras y Construcciones OBRASCON, SA was founded in 1911 in Bilbao. Between 1953 and 1973 the company was one of the bank BBVA, until it was taken over by the company Altos Hornos de Vizcaya. In 1987 she was acquired by its current CEO Juan- Miguel Villar Mir, who in 1991 brought the company to the stock exchange.

Construcciones Huarte was founded in 1927 in Pamplona. 1996 began working with OBRASCON and a year later came the merger of both companies.

The third company, Construcciones Laín, originated in 1963 as a Spanish subsidiary of John Laing Construction. 1991 was the IPO of the company held at the Madrid Stock Exchange and in 1999 the company was merged with OBRASCON Huarte.
