Ebro Foods

Ebro Foods SA (formerly Ebro Puleva SA) Spain's biggest food manufacturer based in Madrid. The company is listed on the Madrid Stock Exchange under the symbol EBRO. Ebro Foods is one of the largest rice producer and is the second largest pasta manufacturer in the world.

In 2011, around 4,800 employees generated sales of 1.805 billion euros. The largest shareholders are Instituto Hispanico del Arroz and the Hernández family, each with 15.72%.

History

The company Ebro Puleva was formed in 2000 through a merger of Azucarera Ebro Agrícolas and Puleva.

The previous owner sold Südzucker Ebro Puleva early 2004.

In order to improve the market position in France acquired Ebro Puleva 2005 noodle Panzani manufacturer.

The position in the North American market improved Ebro Puleva in 2006 through the acquisition of pasta producer New World Pasta for $ 362.5 million.
