Ondřej Palát

Ondřej Palát (born 28 March 1991 Frýdek- Místek ) is a Czech ice hockey player who is since October 2011, when the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League ( NHL) under contract.

Career

Junior Championships in the Czech Republic (2005-2009)

Ondřej Palát dates back to the junior level of the HC Frýdek- Místek, for the U18 team, he was active in the second division of the U18 - play operation from 12005. He also received parallel operations in the U18 team of HC Vitkovice that the U18 Extraliga, the top division of the age group belonged. In 2006 he won the Czech Under-18 Championship with this team. During the season 2006/ 07 he gained his first experience in the U20 team of HC Vitkovice before he firmly belonged to the U20 squad from 2007. In 2009 he won the U20 with this Championship in the Czech Republic.

Change to North America (since 2009)

After this success, he decided a change to North America, playing for the Drummondville Voltigeurs in the QMJHL. During the NHL Entry Draft 2011 he was selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in a total of 208 point and equipped of these in October 2011 with an NHL entry-level contract for a term of three years and employed at the Norfolk Admirals in the American Hockey League. At the end of the 2011/12 season he won the Admiral Calder Cup. During the shortened by the lockout season 2012/13 he made his debut at the beginning of March 2013 for the Lightning in the National Hockey League. Overall, he came in the wake of 14 NHL games played and otherwise for the new farm team of Lightning, the Syracuse Crunch.

Since the beginning of the 2013/14 season he is just like Radko Gudas to Tampa Bay's tribe squad.

Internationally

Ondřej Palát played for the Czech Republic at the following tournaments: Ice Hockey World Championship U18 Juniors 2008 Ice Hockey World Championship U18 Junior Ice Hockey World Championship in 2009 and the U20 Junior 2011.

In January 2014, he and Radko Gudas, surprisingly, for the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, although he had previously played any game for the Men's National Team Czech Republic.
