Ben Bishop
Ben Bishop ( born November 21, 1986 in Denver, Colorado) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender who stands since April 2013 in the Tampa Bay Lightning in the National Hockey League contract.
Career
Ben Bishop began his career as a hockey player with the Texas Tornado of the North American Hockey League, with whom he won the Robertson Cup 2005. He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2005 in the third round than a total of 85 players from the St. Louis Blues.
First, however, the goalkeeper spent three years in the crew of the University of Maine in the University and College Football Hockey East. Towards the end of the season 2007/ 08, the Americans made his debut in professional hockey for St. Louis ' farm team, the Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League. In the following season Bishop was the first time in the National Hockey League for the Blues between the posts, but again spent most of the season with the Peoria Rivermen in the AHL, in their squad, he was also during the following two seasons.
26 February 2012 it transferred the St. Louis Blues in exchange for a second-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2013 to the Ottawa Senators. This gave him away to the Trade Deadline on April 3, 2013, the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Internationally
Bishop participated with the U.S. national team at the 2010 World Cup. In the match against Kazakhstan, he had it his only use of 20 minutes, at which he did not concede.
At the World Championships in 2013 in Stockholm and Helsinki, he was again part of the national team and won the bronze medal with this.
