Orašje

Orašje is a city and the center of the homonymous municipality in northern Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is located in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and is the administrative headquarters of the Canton of Posavina.

During the Bosnian War, the city was badly damaged.

Population

In 1991, the municipality ( Općina ) Orašje had 28 211 inhabitants. Of these, 75.27 % Croats, 14.96 % as Serbs, Bosniaks as 6.77% and 2.15 % as Yugoslavs designated.

The town itself had 3,901 inhabitants Orašje. Of these, 47% Bosniaks, 23% Serbs, 15% Croats and 12% of Yugoslavs.

At the 2013 census lived nurmehr plenty 21,500 inhabitants in the municipality.

Sports

The local football club is called HNK Orašje (Hrvatski Nogometni club Orašje ), and in 1998 Master of the Croatian league in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the season 2005/ 06 was HNK Orašje Bosnian Cup winner and thus played in the UEFA Cup.
