Port Lions is a place with 256 inhabitants on Kodiak Kodiak Iceland Iceland in the Borough, Alaska, United States of America. The town was named in honor of the Lions Club, with its state aid and the village was built to accommodate after the Good Friday Earthquake, earthquake in 1964 on the neighboring island of Afognak, the inhabitants Ag'waneqs. The Stanford University maintains a scientific radio station in Port Lions.

A recognized Native American tribe by the federal government, Native Village of Port Lions is located in Port Lion and more than 300 registered members of the site are advised and organized by the Port Lions Traditional Tribal Council.

Geography

The place is located in Settlers Cove near the mouth of Kizhuyak Bay, a bay on the north side of the island of Kodiak. There are no roads that connects the town with other places; accessible it is only by air or sea. The Port Lions is one of the ports of the Alaska Marine Highway, according to the United States Census Bureau, the municipality covers an area 26.1 square kilometers; of which 9.6 square kilometers of water.

According to the census of 2000, there were 256 people in 89 households, and 76 families. The population density is 16 inhabitants per square kilometer.
