Quaëdypre
Quaëdypre ( Dutch: Kwaadieper ) is a commune near Dunkirk with 1142 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Nord, in the Nord -Pas -de -Calais. It belongs to the community association Communauté de communes du canton de Bergues.
Geography
Quaëdypre is located about 14 kilometers south of Dunkirk. Lille is about 65 km away. The place is located two kilometers south-southeast of Bergues.
History
First mentioned in 1067, the place was called from 1220 Quatipra and received its present name in 1393. The origin of the name is probably a contraction of kwaad ( " bad" or " small" ) and Ieper or Ypres ( elm).

Worth seeing is the Built in the 17th century Church of Saint Omer.
