Račín (Žďár nad Sázavou District)

Račín ( German Ratschin ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located eight kilometers north-west of Zdar nad Sázavou and belongs to Okres Zdar nad Sázavou.

Geography

Račín is located in the southwest of Saarer mountains in a forest clearing in the source basin of the creek Račínský creek. To the east rises the Kamenný vrch ( Steinhübl, 690 m). In the northeast, the ponds are Velké Dářko ( Big Zdarsko ) and Nový fishpond, fishpond west the smaller Nadvepřovský and Vepřovský nový fishpond. In the center of the village is the lake Jordán.

Neighboring towns are Hluboká and Radostín in the north, Karlov, Velké Dářko and Škrdlovice in the northeast, Nový Mlýn and Světnov in the east, Polnička and Na Zadi in the southeast, Šlakhamry, Najdek and Samotín in the south, Bambouch, Velka Losenice and Branty the southwest, Vepřová in west and Havlíčkova Borová and Peršíkov in the northwest.

History

The village was established in the 17th century in the great forest area west of Zdarsko pond. Was first documented Račín, whose name is derived from the earlier, plentiful crayfish, in 1654. Račín In 1680 was converted into a manor. In the vicinity of the settlement, a lime kiln was operated.

After the abolition of patrimonial Radšín or Nový Zdar formed in 1850 a part of the community Vepříkov in the political district Polna. From 1884 belonged to the district Radčín Chotěboř. Since 1921 the place has been called Račín. 1930 was the municipality Račín. After the snow damage disaster of 26 and 27 October 1930 Forest Railway was built in 1931 to the sawmill Najdek and Velké Dářko. The track was until 1934 sailed by two steam and gasoline engines and dismantled after the site clearance of the fracture timber. 1949 Račín was assigned to the Okres Zdar nad Sázavou. In 1961, the annexation to Polnička and 1980-1991 Račín formed a district of Zdar nad Sázavou. Since 1992, the community is again. Through the village leads to the winter months, a cross-country highway.
