Radostín (Žďár nad Sázavou District)

Radostín ( German Radostin, 1940-45 Ochsenberg ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers south-east of Ždírec nad Doubravou and belongs to Okres Zdar nad Sázavou.

Geography

Radostín located southwest of the Saarer mountains in a glacial valley. In the woods west of the village the headwaters of the Doubrava is. To the north lies the pond Dářko Malé, in the southeast of Velké Dářko and west of the Doubravníček and Doubravník. In the east, the Kašovka ( 723 m), in the south of Stráň ( 652 m) and northwest of the Na Kopci ( 648 m) rises. East of Radostín leads the state road 37 between Zdar nad Sázavou and Ždírec nad Doubravou past, of which there is a connection via a driveway.

Neighboring towns are Vojnův Městec in the north, Borky and Nová Huť in the northeast, Karlov in the east, Škrdlovice, Velké Dářko and Nový Mlýn in the southeast, Račín in the south, Vepřová the southwest, Havlíčkova Borová, Peršíkov, Oudoleň and Slavětín the east and Hluboká in the Northeast.

History

Was first mentioned in writing the name of its locator Radost and the Cistercian monastery belonging Saar village in 1493. According to the local chronicle the village is founded in 1291 were his. In Borky there was the village of Lhota, which was burned down in 1422 by about Hussites in the destruction of the monastery and went out. When the monastery in 1457 sold the jurisdiction of Munchberg to Nicholas of Buchau, Lhota was no longer mentioned and finally 1493 as desolate village. Already in the 14th century the village became extinct Radvanec, its location is no longer known today. After the cholera epidemic of 1832, when the village was spared, was to thank the Chapel of St.. Rosalia built.

After the abolition of patrimonial Radostín formed in 1850 with the establishment Panská Bida a municipality in the administrative district of Polna. In the western area of the village of ore was mined. Since 1857, the existence of a Torfstiches in Hochmorr is assignable. From 1884 belonged to the district Radostín Chotěboř. At this time, the village had 757 inhabitants. After the Second World War left 157 inhabitants the place and moved into the Sudetenland. 1949 Radostín was assigned to the Okres Zdar nad Sázavou. Through the town performs a cross-country highway. Today Radostín consists of 55 residential and 54 cottages.
