Řečice (Žďár nad Sázavou District)

Řečice ( German Retschitz, also Rzetschitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers south of Nove Mesto na Moravě and belongs to Okres Zdar nad Sázavou.

Geography

Řečice located in the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands in the valley of the brook Řečický creek. One kilometer east of the village lies the valley of the Bobruvka. In the west the Skály ( 629 m) and the Chlumek rise (650 m).

Neighboring towns are Petrovice and Nová Ves u Nového mesta na Moravě in the north, Radešínská Svratka in the east, in the southeast Podolí, Bohdalec and Křiby in the south, Hodíškov the southwest, Sazomín in the west and Jámy ind Hlinné in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1354 as part of an ongoing dispute between 1366 to the parish priest of Svratka and the Order of St. John in Old Brno to a tithe of the fields in Řečice. The place was as monastic Mannslehn the Lords of Řečice. 1444 ordered the abbot January VIII of Zisterziensterklosters Saar monastic goods and sold by Ondra Řečice and his wife releasing court in Hodíškov for life. Řečice was connected to Hlinné and Vladike Vanek Volimír mortgaged it. After Volimírs death of Abbot Linhart picked up the feud. He sold the court in Hodíškov hereditary at Vavrinec of Řečice and entrusted him with the lower courts in Řečice. Vavrinec bought in 1482 still the court of Volimírs widow added, and sold it again a little later. Subsequently there were further changes of ownership. The oldest town seal dates from 1667. According to the dissolution of the monastery during the Josephine reforms Svratka fell in 1784 the religious fund the reign Saar. 1787 consisted of 39 houses Řečice. In the village lived 324 people belonging to 59 families. Among them were a hereditary judge, eleven large-scale farmers and three Kötner.

After the abolition of patrimonial Řečice formed in 1850 a district of the municipality in the district Nove Mesto Svratka. 1860 was the municipality Řečice. 1901 the community had 668 inhabitants. In addition to the Tálský Mlýn 1929 was a cooperative distillery. In 1949 the parish was assigned to the Okres Zdar nad Sázavou in the wake of the dissolution of Okres Nové Město na Moravě. Between 1968 and 1970, the Culture House was built. Since 1999, the municipality performs a coat of arms.
