Renault GBC 180

The Berliet GBC 8 KT is a French lorry (6 × 6) of Berliet from the 1950s. It is primarily intended for the transport of military loads. The modernized version of this truck is called Renault GBC 180

Description

The Berliet GBC 8 KT was developed in 1956 and has since been in active service in the French army. The truck was derived from the civilian model variant of Berliet Gazelle. Since then, about 18,000 copies were produced worldwide. To find and found the vehicle also used in the Portuguese and Algerian armed forces, but only the 4 × 4 variants were exported to these countries. In the Austrian armed forces, the 6x6 version was a tactical trucks and as an artillery tractor in use. In addition, the GBC 8 KT was produced in China under license. Meanwhile Berliet was acquired by Renault and the Group improved the GBC 8 KT. This modernized variant was designated GBC 180, and is also used by the French armed forces.
