Rexpoëde

Rexpoëde ( Dutch: Rekspoede ) is a commune with 1930 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Nord, in the Nord -Pas -de -Calais. It belongs administratively to the Arrondissement Dunkerque and Canton Hondschoote.

Geography

The municipality is situated approximately 20 kilometers southeast of Dunkirk, near the Belgian border, in the French countryside Flanders. Neighboring communities of Rexpoëde are:

• Killem in the north,
• Oost -Cappel in the east,
• Bambecque in the south,
• West -Cappel in the west and
• Warhem in the northwest.

The municipal area is drained by the river Zwyne Becque to the east, that eventually in the Yser ( Yser ) opens, which runs to Belgium.
