Rohrberg, Austria

Tube is a municipality with 536 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the Zillertal and belongs to the district of Schwaz in Tirol ( Austria ). The municipality is located in the judicial district of Zell am Ziller.

Geography

The small community pipe mountain extends partly in the valley, partly on the steep slopes of the tube sunny mountain. It consists of the districts tube Haslach, high field, Mühlbach settlement and the Streusieldungen on the western slope of the Karspitze ( 2263 m). This mountain is the last south-western spurs of the Kitzbühel Alps. Due to its exposed location on the Gerlos and the Zillertal you can enjoy from its summit a magnificent view of the central and eastern Alps Zillertal and Tux Alps to the south-east. The seat of the municipality is located in a valley in the tiny hamlet tube, approximately 1.5 km northeast of Zell am Ziller. Church- the church pipe mountain belongs to the parish of Zell.

History

For the first time pipe Berg is mentioned in records in 1350. In the tax register from 1779, it forms a main team of nursing court cell. 1817 from the municipality tube mountain was formed. From the 16th to the 18th century this was a union gold mining, which was abandoned in 1838 due to lack of profitability. The stamp mill was in pipe at the foot of the mountain tube. The former administration building of the mine, the so-called Galler house was purchased by the chamber singer Felix Kraus from Munich and converted into a villa. After the great artist also has a wonderful promenade Kraus is named.

At the foot of the mountain pipe was built in 1945 to the Gerlos power plant during the war years of the 1939 Tiwag and taken over in 1953 by the Tauernkraftwerke AG. These four units in the powerhouse ( 576 m ) use the 614 m in the higher memory Gmünd in Gerlos ( 1190m ) accumulated water, which is supplied to the plant in a 7.4 km long headrace tunnel.

The 1978/79 opened plants in the Kreuzjochbahn (formerly SKi- cell, now Zillertal Arena ) and the Grindlalm cable car ( no longer in operation ) and the sky lifts are located on the pipe Berger municipality. The construction of these lifts and the expansion of the main path to the pipe mountain tourism rose sharply in the community.

Economy

At the foot of the mountain pipe a hydroelectric power plant by TIWAG ( Gerlos power plant) was built during the Second World War, in 1953 at the Tauernkraftwerke ( today's Verbund AG ) had to be submitted. These four units in the powerhouse to use the 614 m drop from the week memory Gmünd in Gerlostal.

In tube mountain is the bottom station of the "Zillertal Arena " which might lead lifts to the alpine pastures of mountain tube.

Traffic

Tube Berg connector on the Zillertal road. In nearby Zell am Ziller is a stop of the Zillertal Railway. Since September 2007, there is the possibility to use the Regiotax. The Regiotax is offered in cooperation with the VVT ( Transport Association Tyrol ) and the tube Berger company Taxi Lois for the communities tube mountain and Gerlos Mountain as a transport agent. A line runs at regular bars on the mountain part of the municipality tube mountain and the community Gerlos Mountain, the second line takes care of the districts in the valley area of the municipality tube Berg ( Haslach, Klamml, high field, Mühlbach settlement and pipe ).
