Rosička (Žďár nad Sázavou District)

Rosička ( German Rositschka, also Rosicka ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers south-west of Zdar nad Sázavou and belongs to Okres Zdar nad Sázavou.

Geography

Rosička located southwest of the Saarer mountains on a ridge in the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands. The Bohemian town is located immediately west of the historic border with Moravia and the main European watershed between the Elbe and Danube. To the east is the large pond Matějovský fishpond. To the north rises the Židovská (602 m) and in the northwest the Rosička ( 644 m).

Neighboring towns are Huťský Dvůr and Sázava in the north, Česká Mez in the northeast, Budeč in the east, in the southeast Matějov, Sirákov and Poděšín the southwest, Nížkov in the west and Buková, Nové Dvory Kopanina and Kopaniny in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village Rozseč took place in 1356 as a possession of Ješek Ptáček of Pirkstein on Polná.

After the abolition of patrimonial Rosička formed in 1850 a municipality in the administrative district of Polna. From 1880, the village belonged to the district Deutschbrod. In 1893 came the settlement Kopanina to Rosička. In the 1930s, was built on the hill Rosička a wooden tower, which served to air traffic control. 1949 Velka Losenice was assigned to the Okres Zdar nad Sázavou. In 1961, the incorporation of Sázava and between 1980 and 1990 Rosička was a district of Velka Losenice. At the beginning of 1991, the municipality was Rosička.

The community performs a coat of arms under a Dietrichsteiner symbolizing the bishop's cap shows a crossed with a severed branch ax.

Attractions

  • Hill Rosička with 42 m high telecommunications tower. Established in 2001 building has 24 meters in height and a lookout platform is freely accessible with the exception of the winter months.
