Rovegno

Rovegno ( Roegno Ligurian ) is a small town in the Italian province of Genoa with 566 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012).

Location

The municipality is located in the valley of the Parco naturale Trebbia regional Antola (Regional Natural Park Antola ). Together with seven other municipalities forms Rovegno the mountain community of Alta Val Trebbia.

The territory of the present-day Rovegno consists of a number of small villages and settlements, which were incorporated in 1797, joined forces after the fall of the Republic of Genoa under the administration of Napoleon Bonaparte into a single municipality, with the administrative center Rovegno.

According to the Italian classifications for seismic activity Rovegno was assigned to Zone 3. This means that the municipality is in a seismically active zone little.
