Rožná

Rožná ( German Roschna, also Rosna or Rozna ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers south of Bystřice nad Perštejnem and belongs to Okres Zdar nad Sázavou.

Geography

Rožná is located at the confluence of Rožínka in the Nedvědička in the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands. In the north, the Zlatkovská hora rises (540 m), northeast to the Hradisko collected ( 528 m), the South East Zadnà končini (552 m) and south of the Dejmalka (600 m). To the east of the temple is forest. To the north lies the only one still operating uranium mine in the Czech Republic. Through the town, the railway line from Nove Mesto na Moravě leads to Tišnov.

Neighboring towns are Dvořiště and Rodkov in the north, Zlatkov in the northeast, Josefov and Suché Louka in the east, and Jabloňov Věžná the southeast, Střítež in the south, Milasin the southwest, Dolni Rožínka in the west and Zvole and Horni Rožínka in the northwest.

History

The first mention of Rožná was in 1349, as Blud Kralice of the place along the castle Zubštejn and other villages on Imran de Lapide ( Jimram z Kamene ) returned. The site itself is much older, the construction of the Church of Sts. Gallus was about a hundred years earlier. On the Hradisko was a wooden fortification in the 13th century. 1358 was the domination Zubstein back to Margrave Johann Heinrich. 1384 enfeoffed Margrave Jobst Heralt of Kunštát with the castles and Zubstein Pyšolec. From 1417 onwards, was Boček III. of Podiebrad owner of the village. He sold the goods to Jan Hlaváč Ronov. Other owners were William I of Pernštejna and Wenzel storm of Ronow. From 1448 Rozna was hereditary John of Pernštejna and was part of the reign Pernštejna. Since 1500, the settlement Dvořiště is detectable. 1596 sold John of Pernštejna Rožná together with Mitrov to Paul Katharyn of Katharn. Rožná was separated in 1656 from the dominion Mitrov and 1660 sold together with Jabloňov, Milasin and Bukov to Maximilian of Liechtenstein - Kastelkorn on Pernštejna. In 1675 Roschna consisted of 14 properties. Until 1720 Roschna formed a special good rule of Pernštejna, after which it was combined with the rule.

In 1765 the parsonage was built. Since the 18th century, mining was carried on Hradisko proven. The application of the first tunnel was, however, much earlier and even below Rožná old tunnel systems were found. In addition to mining the Hradisko also iron mines were operated at Rožná; bought this in 1860 on the Stiepanauer ironworks. Johann Nepomuk Mitrovský of Nemyšl, who had the dominion Zámecká Rožínka 1781 to 1799, was a patron of the Enlightenment and was west of the village park forest temple invest. After the abolition of patrimonial Rožná / Roschna formed in 1850 with the district Dvořiště a municipality in the district Nove Mesto. In 1949 the parish was assigned nad Perštejnem in the wake of the dissolution of Okres Nové Město na Moravě the Okres Bystřice. Between 1954 and 1956 a mineable uranium deposit was discovered in geological exploration work in the Valley of Nedvědička. In 1957, the mine Rožná I was sunk at the temple forest. Since the beginning of 1958, the promotion of uraninite occurs. In 1961, the annexation of Josefov ( with Suché Louka ) and Zlatkov, at the same time came the village to Okres Zdar nad Sázavou.

The s.p. for state-owned enterprises DIAMO corresponding branch operation o.z. GEAM Dolni Rožínka is now the only still operating uranium mine in the Czech Republic. The funding comes from a depth up to 1000 m. The annual production is 400 tons of pitchblende and coffinite. In April 2007, the operation period was extended by the Czech government in 2012. The DIAMO assumes that the deposit still has a reserve of 110,000 tons of uranium ore. Local structure

The municipality consists of the villages Rožná Josefov ( Joseph village), Rožná ( Roschna ) and Zlatkov ( Zlatkow ) and the settlements Dvořiště ( colony Dworziste ) and Suché Louka ( Dürrwies ).
